CRPS Strong

Non-Profit Organization

Meet Dr. Dixon

About Lily Houle -
Founder and CEO of CRPS Strong

Lily Houle is a seventeen year old girl who lives with her mom, stepdad, and two brothers in Henderson, Nevada. She developed CRPS following an injury at only  fifteen years old, and endured months of travelling across the country desperately searching for answers with no luck. The medical system was broken, and she decided to be the one to step up and make it better. She plans on going to medical school, and is currently getting her associates degree all while still in high school. Lily created this non-profit as a response to her search for answers after seeing 30 doctors over the course of one agonizing year. Now with a proper diagnosis, she is beginning to run and play soccer again. Her mission is to spread the knowledge of her disorder, as so many people and medical professionals are still unfamiliar with it. On top of this, she wants to raise money for research and clinical trials for CRPS, as well as sponsor patients in need of treatment.

What is CRPS or RSD?

CRPS or Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is a nervous system disorder that typically attacks a certain limb. This isn't always the case though as it can sometimes appear in multiple body parts or even just a random one. CRPS is usually caused by an injury or presents itself after a surgery. The injury can be as minor a sprained finger or a cut. As for the surgery, it doesn't necessarily mean something went "wrong" during the procedure. CRPS or RSD is still a poorly understood condition, but there is plenty of evidence pointing it to be genetic and or autoimmune.
